W, Mo, TZM, CuW, AgW Insert Spot Welding Electrode

Non-ferrous metals and alloys such as tungsten (W), molybdenum (Mo), TZM, copper tungsten (CuW), and silver tungsten (AgW) have high melting points and exhibit excellent properties such as high temperature strength, creep resistance, and electron emission capabilities. Additionally, tungsten has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and the lowest metal vapor pressure among metals. Typically, powder metallurgy is employed to produce these alloys.

In contrast to traditional methods like NDB (Non-Defective Bonding) and back casting for joining tungsten and copper shanks, we utilize advanced CBT®(Copper Bonding Technology) to bond shanks with non-ferrous metal tips. Our CBT no-ferrous insert spot welding electrode face materials can include tungsten, lanthanum tungsten, molybdenum, TZM, and silver tungsten. HOSO's electrodes achieve excellent working lifetimes and production yield rates.

HOSO Metal designs electrodes specifically for resistance spot welding. For more details, please refer to our tungsten electrode catalogue. Typically, our tungsten electrodes come in two types:

1: pure tungsten electrode

2: Tungsten-faced electrodes with shank materials such as copper, beryllium copper (BeCu), or CuCrlZr alloy

We employ two types of joining technologies between the tungsten and copper shank: silver brazing and NDB (No Defect Bonding).
